Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Nicole Ruggiero. I currently operate Marty's Driving Range in Mason, NH. My parents built this business from the ground up in 1992. I was 7years old. Growing up in a family business can teach you a lot about work ethic, the value of a dollar, and what it feels like to take pride in something. I re-entered the business after my mother passed away in 2010. She was diagnosed with lung cancer on September 2nd and passed away on the 29th. My father gave me the option to take over, or we would have to sell Marty's. The thought of losing the family business that my mother put so much heart into was enough to sign me up, but it was definitely not enough to keep me. I needed to put my own heart into Marty's, as both my parents had done over the years. In order to keep my head clear while grieving the untimely loss of my mother, I started booking bands. The positive response from the live music came at the perfect time in my life. Ultimately, it saved me from my grief. Running this business, putting my energy into the live music scene, giving back to the community through these events, this has all been the silver lining to my loss. I love Marty's. I love what I do. The people I've met. All of the positivity that has entered my life through really having a passion for what I do. Not many people can say that about their careers. I don't work for a paycheck. I work for every single person that has had a good time at Marty's. Unfortunately, after three years, live music is now in jeopardy. We have been denied the variance for changing the usage of our business, and we ask for your support at this time. Because the truth is, if you take the music out of Marty's, you're taking my heart with it. Respectfully, Nicole Ruggiero
